Neue Sicherheit, neue Hoffnung
Das Evangelium am Neujahrstag erzählt von der Geburt Jesu ohne weiteres hinzuzufügen (Lukas 2, 16-21). Den Rest müssen wir hinzufügen. Das ist kein unmögliches Unterfangen, wie es auch für Josef und Maria nicht unmöglich war. Es beginnt mit der Flucht ins Ausland nach Ägypten, um den Herrn zu retten.
Remembering Mary on New Year's Day: new certainty, new hopes
The gospel read at Mass on New Year's Day just describes the birth of Jesus without adding anything (Luke 2, 16-21). All the rest must be added by us in the course of the year. It is not an impossible undertaking any more than it was for Joseph and Mary, beginning with the flight to a foreign country, Egypt, to save the Lord.

L'anno vecchio è ormai passato
l'anno nuovo è gia annunciato nella luce del Natale.
Il vangelo della festa del primo dell'anno descrive la nascita di Gesù: non aggiunge altro (Lc 2,16-21).
il resto lo dobbiamo aggiungere noi nel corso dell'anno. L'impresa non è impossibile come non lo è stato per Giuseppe e per Maria, in terra straniera pur di salvare il Signore.
